Dustin Corn’s Take
Travis Bell is Kennesaw State’s 14th signee of the 2017 recruiting class. Travis helped lead Jefferson Davis HS to the class 7A AHSAA Playoffs. Travis is a quarterback’s worst nightmare. If he gets home, he wants you to remember that he was there. He is one of the more violent finishers that Kennesaw State has ever recruited. While Travis has a mean streak, he also displays great hustle when chasing down plays outside the hashes. Kennesaw State needed to bring in some defensive lineman as they have large group of upperclassmen entering the 2017 season. I think they will be more than pleased with the addition of Travis Bell.
Travis plays defensive tackle and defensive end due to his athleticism in high school. I would anticipate he continues to put on weight in a college strength and conditioning program and ends up playing exclusively inside. Someone with his mean streak can be a tone setter for your defense, and someone an offense always has to account for. As he progresses throughout his career he will learn how to be more effective with his hands, and improve his repertoire of pass rushing moves. Travis is a supremely talented player that still has a lot of room to grow. I am excited to welcome him to The Nest!
