Owls Hire Coordinator and Two Coaches
Finally, some juicy news has hit the internet! Per the AJC, Brian Bohannon has tabbed Central Carroll High School head coach and director of athletics Grant Chesnut, 36, to be the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
Chesnut inherited an 0-10 team at Central High School in 2011 and turned them into a 5-5 squad by the end of this past season.
If you’re wondering of the connections to the current Owls head coach, Chesnut played offensive tackle for Paul Johnson at Georgia Southern while Bohannon was an assistant coach for the Eagles.
Bohannon told Roberson, “We see things the same way as far as what we want to do offensively. He’s great at developing young men. When his players talk about the program, they talk about him and the impact he’s had on their lives.”
The Owls also hired former Georgia Tech linebacker and graduate assistant Shane Bowen to an undisclosed coaching role. Bowen was a linebacker for the Yellow Jackets who had his career cut short due to a neck injury. He helped coach the B-backs and the offensive line in a graduate role under Bohannon’s eye at Tech.
Liam Klein announced last night that he had accepted a position with the football team.
