Owls Add Defensive Back from HoCo

Kennesaw State Football has gotten a preferred walk-on commitment from Houston County DB Branden Smith. Smith tells me he chose the Owls over scholarship offers from Mercer and Presbyterian.

He also told me that he really liked the coaches and the environment on campus.

From RecruitGeorgia.com: “Smith is a ball hawk with great size and does good job of squaring up his hips on the pass and making a play on the ball. Smith is also a textbook tackler. He has light feet with an excellent back pedal. Really like how he keeps his hips on a swivel – the 2017 recruit looks like an FBS caliber prospect to me. Really surprised to see he has no offers but cannot expect that to be the same a in the coming weeks.”

Offers: Kennesaw St. (PWO), Mercer (Scholarship), Presbyterian (Scholarship)
