Burks Added To AJC POY Watch List


Kennesaw State’s first ever football commitment Chandler Burks is looking like he could be a good one, and now he’s starting to get recognized. Georgia High School Football Daily’s piece was published in the Prep Zone on AJC, and you can read it here.


Joining the POY Watch this week is South Paulding quarterback Chandler Burks, who last week became the first player in the state to surpass 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing this season. Burks accomplished another first last summer when he became the first player to make a verbal commitment to Kennesaw State’s new football program.



10. QB Chandler Burks, South Paulding: Burks was 8-of-15 passing for 197 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-7 victory over Paulding County. He rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. For the season, Burks is 128-of-191 passing for 2,002 yards and 20 touchdowns with four interceptions. He has rushed for 1,084 yards and 15 touchdowns on 118 carries. Burks, who is 5 feet, 10 inches and 180 pounds, has committed to Kennesaw State.

    I’m not sure what quarterbacking skills you already have at KSU but I’m certain chandler is up to the task at starting just at least see what he can do before you bench him.
