Markeith Cummings scored 31 points vs. Radford

On the second leg of the three round Comfort Suites Invitational, Markeith Cummings scored 31 points–but he couldn’t do it alone as KSU fell short for the second time in two days. The 1-3 Owls will play tomorrow night against Towson. The complete game story can be found at KSUOwls.com, along with the box score (PDF).

Random Thoughts (from the box score and listening on the radio)

Markeith Cummings dominated, especially in the second half when he scored 20 of his 31 points. They kept feeding him but just couldn’t get enough stops on defense. His 31 points were one shy of his career high and four points short of the Kennesaw State Division I record of 35 points.

I’d like to see KSU commit some hard fouls and send a message.

Andrew Osemhen might have had his best game as an Owl.

Myles Hamilton and Delbert Love combined for 2 assists and 12 turns.

20 turnovers is not acceptable.

Delbert Love is struggling with his outside shot and went 1-8 on Saturday and is now 6 of 27 on the year.

The Owls were 2 of 14 from three point land–including 0-8 in the second half.

The free throw shooting was at 70% for the game, which I am okay with but it could always get better.

Cole Hobbs and Jordan Montgomery didn’t play.
