Kennesaw State comes into this game coming off a strong finish in the season opener at Tennessee, which is a confidence booster for the young Owls.
KSU fell to the Bulldogs last year in double overtime by the score of 104-98, and I would say that Kennesaw State is out for revenge but both teams are returning a combined seven players.
This is the season opener for South Carolina St. who beat Division II member Claflin 81-62 in their exhibition, but are only returning senior guard Khalif Toombs and sophomore forward Luka Radovic.
Trying to predict a game with little data to back it up is futile, but I’m going to do it anyway and ride with Kennesaw State. South Carolina St. doesn’t have much experience and can’t possibly have too much chemistry with only two returning players — but they do have some size. If KSU can rebound the ball, shoot the three better than on Friday and not let South Carolina State go on any huge runs then they should win. The majority of this year’s Owls embrace close games rather than play scared like in years past, so if it’s close in the final two minutes I believe Kennesaw can pull it off. My official prediction is that KSU will win by 3. BOOK IT!
